Award-winning design agency, Plastic Palmtree elevates Mozen’s cannabis vape pens to high-end chic with their minimalistic designs. Each design features a shiny black leaf on a matte black background with the brand name in grey and the type in red.
“Our team created the brand strategy, identity, package design and marketing for a debut cannabis brand called mozen. The brand focuses on cannabis newbies as well as connoisseurs."
"We created a strength legend to easily explain the strain and strength of each vaporizer pen. Each vape pen comes in its own box with instructions for use and product details.
The bottom of each vape has an etched logo that lights up the appropriate color when inhaled. Each vape pen is clearly marked with the color strain and strength (open +closed dots) in case the customer loses the outer box packaging. Each box is created with matte black substrate and black foil stamping to create a subtle texture variation when the light hits it.
The strain is done in color foil, and the rest of the text is in silver 877 ink. The inside info card is printed 4 color and completed with a soft touch coating. When stacked next to each other in a POS display, the droplet shape on each box forms a pattern. "
"The brand uses 2 colors: red & purple. We made sure to use these color in accordance with the leafly color guide for strains. The red is a Sativa-dominant strain (uplifting) and the purple is the Indica-dominant strain (relaxing). The goal is to keep it universal for all customers to clearly understand what they are consuming. We created clear product names and irreverent descriptions for each product to keep the experience light, fun & approachable."
"We positioned the brand to feel and appear like any other high-end lifestyle brand. With California legalizing the recreational use of cannabis, many cannabis brands were advertising to an easy target. They use the California millennial, hipster persona to target an age group that already loves and understands marijuana. But what about everyone else? Our goal was to make mozen accessible to suburban professionals, parents, more skeptical customers, and new users alike. ”

“The packaging had 2 phases, the 1st being non child-resistant (pre regulations) and the 2nd having a child resistant tube, sealed outer box, required compliant language and warnings. We wanted this cannabis brand to be discreet and feel like a luxury item when the customer unboxes the packaging. With each client, our team fights the stigma of stoner culture and builds memorable, tasteful and accessible brands.
