Chobani, an American-based Greek yogurt company, is officially diving into the world of savory with their new Chobani Savors, perfect for all your Taco Tuesdays and twice-baked potatoes.
Currently, it is available in low-fat plain and whole milk plain and delivers 50% fewer calories, 75% less fat and twice the protein for the same great taste.
On top of that, it’s packaged in a squeezable tube, similar to ketchup, making it incredibly convenient, essentially, turning it into the condiment you never knew you needed until now.
“We knew there was a desire to use the product beyond just a spoonable, breakfast occasion,” Leland Maschmeyer, CCO of Chobani said. “Yogurt globally is a culinary staple. It’s part of so many different recipes and is used in so many different ways throughout the day. I think a lot of people in the United States were starting to learn about the versatility of the yogurt and the nutritional benefits of it.”
To inform and educate consumers that yogurt can indeed be used as a condiment, they created specific packaging of what the product was and how it was to be used.
It started with a series of squeezable tubes that could keep the yogurt thick and creamy over an extended period of time, ultimately deciding on a softer packaging.
They also didn’t want to stray too far from the brand’s core principles – natural, craft-oriented and simple. The results, a minimalistic design featuring typography and minimal patterns. Squeezable greek yogurt shines high at the top, followed by only natural ingredients and Chobani Savor underneath in a dark teal font. Below, the flavor is a pop of red or lavender, with 75% less fat than sour cream.
Chobani Savors will launch in the next few weeks in the same markets and grocery stores where you’d buy their yogurt.
How many other nationwide yogurt companies are pursuing something outside the snack and breakfast department? Chobani, the #1 Greek yogurt company in America, is soaring to new heights with Chobani Savor, positioning themselves a culinary brand for all taste profiles, from savory to sweet.
