350 slices of pizza are sold every second in the United States, and that pretty much tells you everything you need to know about our national obsession.
Now, Pizza Wine, a snazzy bottle of red that pairs seamlessly with all your ‘za eating needs, is waiting for you, whether you’re hosting a party or you’re riding solo and enjoying an Ozark binge.
Made from ripened Sangiovese picked in September at their peak and refined over the course of 6 months, Pizza Wine delivers a bit of sour cherry and forest fruit flavors on the front end, with spicy notes on the backend.
The bottles, clever and oh so ooey and gooey, were designed by Swedish agency and branding house, Company & Co. The design features solid black, with a matte neck and a pop of color with a slice of pepperoni.
You’re probably wondering, what geniuses invented a red to pair with pizza?
Nima and Oscar, the founders of Grapest Wines & Co., are all about delivering great wines to pair with their favorite foods, all with the help of some talented sommeliers and wine producers. Pizza Wine is only the duo’s first release. Can you imagine what kind of other amazing pairs this duo can come up with? Not that we’re in the business of food pairing, but we have two words for Grapest—Taco Wine.
Listen, you’re an adult, and you don’t need an excuse to grab a pizza and a bottle of wine. But, Pizza Wine is the enabler we’ve all been waiting for.
