In celebration of International Women’s Day, McDonald’s is taking its brand somewhere it has never, in the history of being open, gone before.

The iconic golden archways that make you think of Quarter Pounders, Big Macs and McFlurries have been physically turned upside down to form a “W” at the Lynwood, California location to honor women around the world.

Why this specific location?

To celebrate the owner, of course. Patricia Williams has been a part of the McDonald’s franchise for 30 years and has even encouraged her two daughters, Kerri and Nicole to work alongside her.  "Patricia, Kerri and Nicole represent the hardworking and dedicated women we have in our system,“ said the Oak Brook, Illinois-based fast food company in USA Today.

McDonald’s homage to phenomenal women doesn’t stop there. A hundred other locations will feature special packing, employees will flaunt new swag from hats to t-shirts and all social media icons will feature the inverted golden arches.

To keep the women empowerment ball rolling a little bit more. Did you know 6 out of 10 restaurant managers at McDonald’s are women? That’s more than 50%!

Slow clap for McDonald’s for knowing the value of women!
