Carpenter Collective designed the strikingly blue coffee packaging for Kansas-based PT’s Coffee Roasting Company. The design provides the consumer with transparency as each bag provides information about the origin of the coffee in addition to the specific flavor notes that come with each blend.
“PT’s Coffee Roasting Company, established in 1993 in Topeka, Kansas and was in need of a rebrand as they celebrated their 25th anniversary. Carpenter Collective was approached to explore a brand identity rebrand. We were truly inspired by PT’s passion for exceptional coffee from seed to cup. It was important for the new identity to reflect their love of coffee from their direct trade relationships with the farmers to the retail clientele.”
“The inspiration behind the updated PT’s mark and identity happened on a visit to PT’s Coffee headquarters in Topeka, Kansas. Less than two miles from PT’s roasting facility, we drove by a herd of bison grazing on the Kansas prairie. The bison of the great plains represents strength, unity and abundance. PT’s wanted their new identity to be reflective of these same values as well and connect to their Midwest roots. The design style reinforces the hand-crafted nature of PT’s products—making their brand more approachable and memorable in the market.”
“In addition to the updated brand identity, we also began extending the system and reevaluating their full packaging system. We developed a unique and customizable 12 oz. coffee bag system that allows PT’s to update the label system in house, as they roast over 70 different coffee varietals a year. Beyond the 12 oz everyday coffee bag system we also developed a high end blue label line of packaging for their limited release roasts and sample packs.”
